WHAT IS DIVERTICULOSIS?

Diverticulosis is a condition in which small pouches are found in the intestines. Most people with Diverticulosis do not have any symptoms. They may never know they have the condition. Many times Diverticulosis is discovered by an x-ray or intestinal examination of an unrelated reason.

WHAT CAUSES DIVERTICULOSIS?

No one knows for sure why these pouches form. Diverticulosis is very common. Studies show 10% of the people over the age of 40 has Diverticulosis and nearly 50% of the population over the age of 60.

WHAT TREATMENT IS NECESSARY?

If you have no symptoms no treatment is necesary. Discuss with your doctor if you have any concerns.
